Arthur Mytum
I was first hired as a BERS intern for the summer. I love the flexible workday and handling my own workload and schedule, so when I was offered a graduate ecologist role, I was more than happy to say yes.
I’m now looking forward to learning a lot more from the rest of the fantastic Arbtech team.
Arbtech has a great approach to modern work.
You’re all treated as equals and can really be yourself.
There is a great team spirit, and you’re trusted to work in your own time and to your own abilities while being encouraged to push yourself and learn new things.
I love bouldering, so I’m often at the crag getting shut down by a big burley rock.
I also love live music and cooking up a storm in the kitchen, and I am currently training for my first marathon. Ask me afterwards if that’s still something I enjoy!
Always try to be kind and understand but don’t compromise your principles.
Life can be pretty hard, but we’re all just trying to do our best and most things are easier when people work together.
I have yet to sample the famous Arbtech socials, but I am looking forward to the Christmas party!
My girlfriend and I have done lots of travelling, and next on our wish list is a road trip up the west coast of the USA finishing in British Columbia, Canada.
Sun, sea, trees and mountains – what’s not to love?
Sat in the sun with a smile on my face.
I try not to attach my happiness to a set plan in life. I find it best to go with the flow, stick to my principles, and try to enjoy the ride.
Send 7b+ on grit this season and 8a by next year (nerdy climbing goals).
Otherwise, I would like to travel to every continent excluding Antarctica (only South America to go) and finally perfect my Nonya laksa recipe.
As for professional goals, I would like to improve as an ecologist, gain my first EPSL licence – especially a bat licence – and just become the best version of myself as an ecologist that I can be.
Arthur joined Arbtech in October 2024.
Meet the other members of our leading ecology and arboriculture team.
