Curtis James
Curtis made the switch from assisting in lifting operations in precast concrete installation to arboriculture whilst travelling in Australia.
He landed a job in Western Australia where he began his career as a junior climbing arborist. This took him to New Zealand where he began his studies in arboriculture. He was soon in some of the most remote locations on the South Island of NZ working in the canopy for just over two years.
Curtis came back to the UK to further his studies and complete a level three BTEC in arboriculture. After that, Curtis spent three years professionally working on trees as a self employed contractor in East Anglia before he became part of the Arbtech family.
Curtis is soon to become a member of the Arboricultural Association (MArborA) and an associate member of the Institute of Chartered Foresters. He is based in Suffolk and is currently being trained to carry out BS5837 reports.
In his spare time, he likes to ride bicycle motocross, surf when the swell finally hits the East Coast, kite board when the wind is right and more recently he is learning to play the drums and rock climb!
