David Garrick
David joined the team at Arbtech as an arboriculturist, working predominantly from his home-office base in Rochester, Kent. His specialisation is BS5837 tree surveys, though he is equally at home on larger and smaller projects; from single-tree mortgage reports, to risk assessment and condition surveys.
David is FdSc Arboriculture qualified, having studied through the University of Central Lancashire. Previously he worked as an arboriculturist for international engineering conglomerate, Jacobs Engineering in Maidstone, and prior to that as a Woodland and Tree Officer at Coed Cymru, Wales.
He has three very young children and despite the lack of sleep and being run off his feet most of the time, is still motivated and enthusiastic about every project he delivers, for clients throughout the London and the Home Counties. Inevitably, he spends a good deal of his ‘daily grind’ enjoying the bumper-to-bumper delights of the M25, but he is passionate about trees and their management and gets very amorous and animated when you get him talking about working with trees — he loves it!
Dave has been with us 8 years.
Robert Oates, managing director says:
One blustery October afternoon, Matt Middle and I were sat in Cafe Nero at Euston station (if you’ve read many of these bios, by now you’ll know that half of Arbtech were hired in a coffee shop), discussing the foregone conclusion – that we were going to hire a wonderful lady, who earlier that day had interviewed very well and seemed eager to come to and join us. Then in walked Dave. Experienced, intelligent, articulate, passionate, meticulous, self-motivated, ideally located in Kent (an area we do a lot of work), available for immediate start… and likes American football. Sold! If you are lucky enough to have Dave work on your project, then sit back and relax – you’re in good hands. Oh yes, and he looks like a young Bill Bailey.
