Matt McCluskey
I chose Arbtech because of its progressive approach to work and the way it genuinely values its team.
The company stood out to me for its commitment to flexibility, autonomy and work-life balance – things that really matter in today’s working world.
From the outside, Arbtech’s reputation for career development and treating people as individuals – not just employees – made the decision a no-brainer.
It was clear that this was a place where I could not only grow professionally but also be supported as a whole person.
What I love most about Arbtech is 100% the people.
Everyone is so knowledgeable, approachable and genuinely driven – not just in their work but in helping each other succeed.
There’s a team spirit here, which is impressive, especially considering how much of the work is remote.
Despite the distance, there’s a real sense of community that makes you feel seen, heard and appreciated every single day.
Outside of Arbtech, I like to keep active and social.
I regularly go to the gym and am a passionate Everton supporter, so I try to get to games whenever I can (even if they keep me on my toes emotionally!).
I also enjoy hiking in Wales, especially when I need to switch off and recharge in nature.
On the more relaxed side, I play darts – although I’ll admit, accuracy isn’t always my strong suit!
Keeping busy with things I love really helps me maintain a healthy work-life balance.
My biggest tip for achieving the most in life is to stay curious and keep learning.
Whether it’s through reading, listening to others or getting stuck into new experiences, that mindset of growth is key.
I also think it’s important to surround yourself with people who motivate you, and to set goals that actually mean something to you.
And above all else, be consistent – even small efforts done regularly can lead to big results over time.
I haven’t had the chance to go on a social just yet, but from what I’ve heard, they sound like an absolute blast!
The way people talk about them makes it clear that they’re a brilliant way to connect, unwind and enjoy the company’s incredible culture in person.
I’m definitely looking forward to experiencing one soon!
The next destination on my list is Morocco.
I’ve always been intrigued by the culture and energy of Marrakech, and I’m also planning to take on an adventure by hiking Mount Toubkal – the highest peak in North Africa.
It’s the perfect mix of exploring a vibrant city and challenging myself in nature – something I’m really excited about.
In five years, I see myself continuing to grow within Arbtech, hopefully taking on more responsibility and refining my skills and knowledge in the field.
On a personal level, I’d love to tick off a few major milestones – whether that’s travel, fitness goals, or building towards long-term financial stability.
Most importantly, I want to keep that balance between being ambitious and enjoying life as it comes.
A couple of key goals I have are buying a home and hitting some big fitness targets.
Specifically, I’d love to be able to bench press 140kg and run a half marathon – though definitely not on the same day!
Those goals represent both strength and endurance for me, and I enjoy having something to work toward outside of work that pushes me in a different way.
