Arbtech were recently asked to carry out a tree condition and hazard survey on over 300 trees at a college in Liverpool.
Arbtech do lots of work around Liverpool and we’ve done hundreds of these types of surveys in our time, so this project was perfect for us.
After getting the necessary site information from our client, we sent a quote via email which contained lots of useful supporting information to explain the process. We also allocated our arboriculturist in the area – Alan Thompson to the job so that he could make contact with the client and arrange a date to visit the site and arrange the survey.
Tree Condition Survey Background
Landowners have an obligation to make sure that trees on their property are properly managed so that they do not harm people or cause damage to property. There are a number of laws in place in the UK which require landowners to manage their trees.
These types of surveys require specialist knowledge of trees and work by classifying the risk posed by various trees and writing reports detailing the findings and recommendations of the survey.
Arbtech are frequently called upon by clients both big and small, all over the UK to help with this. We pride ourselves on making this process as simple, fast and efficient as possible.
Our Tree Survey in Liverpool
Once Alan had arranged a suitable date with our client and answered a few initial questions, he visited the college to begin work. Alan did a survey of the site, taking measurements and studying trees in order to determine their condition. Alan categorised the trees based on their condition so that he could advise the client which ones were in good condition and which ones could be potentially dangerous and may need remedial works to make them safe.
Once back at the office, Alan got to work writing the report and sent it to the client the day after visiting the site.
Results
The client was very happy with the speed and efficiency of Alan’s work and also loved how simple the report was. This client now comes back to Arbtech year after year, knowing that we will be able to help them keep trees on their development safe for their visitors.
