Arbtech undertook a bat survey for me in a very professional manner. Both serveyors had a great passion for bats and were very informative. The report was informative and easy to understand. Great job.
Take a look at some of the kind words our clients have said about us recently
We take customer service seriously here at Arbtech. We'll do everything we can to make the process as fast, simple and hassle-free as possible. That's why our clients love working with us, and that's why we we've been collecting genuine five-star reviews for the past 20 years.

Swindon council told me I would need an ecological assessment report with my planning application otherwise they would not accept it. Arbtech were very quick at identifying exactly the report I needed and got on with everything quickly. I was a bit shocked to discover that the council wanted extra ‘data’, at a considerable cost of £125, which Arbtech had not included in their fees. I was contacted by one of Arbtech’s ecological consultants to ask if I would mind leaving a review and am happy to oblige.
Polly was very kind and spent a good deal of time talking me through the process while on site. She let me accompany her during part of her survey so I could appreciate what the council were asking for.
We have used Arbtech on quite a number of projects over the years for our tree surveys. Their quality and fast turn around, make them great value for money.
Produced a full tree survey and report for Llannerch Park (location of the outlet) in an amazingly quick time and put together a tree protection plan to enable an emergency planning extant application to go through successfully. Rob motivated his team to provide a quick response and deliver the paperwork the council needed on time – and the cost was just what he said it would be.
Couldn’t ask for any better!!
We needed to offer protection to the farm from prevailing winds whilst not blocking sunlight. We had found certain tree types were not growing well in the past and Arbtech suggested having soil analysis done. With this in hand it was easy to make the correct recommendations and so far we have been very pleased with the results with no need to make any changes.
Alan came to site a number of times to ensure that the plan met with our needs and would deliver the necessary goals. He also followed this up some time after to gauge the success of the project.
All in all very professional and I would wholeheartedly recommend Arbtech to anyone.
After I get the bad news of bats present, I then panicked that I would have an up hill struggle to get planning permission. Arbtech took care of everything and dealt with all the hurdles that were placed in my way. Would recommend them to anyone.
Arbtech were very good at making me feel comfortable and supported. I had contacted several other companies for quotations and found them to be very standoffish saying that the trees must stay and I couldn’t build within 7m of them. Arbtech took a completely different attitude and advised me that while they could make no promises, they would try their very best for me to be able to build 4m away form the tree. They contacted the tree officer and discussed it with her, who recommended supporting the application. The only negative point was I had to chase up Matt to send the report again as I did not receive it the first time it was sent.
Matt was very patient and explained everything clearly so that I understood what was likely to be acceptable to the council, and what I should be prepared to make concessions on. He also offered to speak to the tree officer on my behalf which I thought was a nice touch.
You were the only people I called who are prepared to discuss price over the phone. I gave you four stars as the price was very competitive but the time scale to get to our site was a little outside of your advertized 2-5 days on this web site (7 days). However, I was assured that was simply because you were held up by bad weather the week before, the service I received was excellent and I will be using you again very soon.
A good firm to work with. This is our second time using arbtech on one of our developments. Easy to deal with, very quick – our report came back the same day as the survey was undertaken by Mr Best.
Former Dairy Building, Southend Farm, Selsey Road, Donnington, Chichester, Hampshire PO20 7PS. I needed a scoping bat survey, bat emergence surveys, mitigation statement, natural Enlgand licence for bats. Cost was approximately £2,600 the lot (obviously plus the taxman’s slice – VAT).
Excellent. Very professional and approachable. Martin is the definition of an expert and knows his subject (bats!!) intimately.
We procured a bat survey from Arbtech in May of this year and are extremely pleased with the tenacity and responsive service we have received. Our surveyor was Martin and I have no hesitation in writing this recommendation as he undertook what proved to be a very successful report that concluded, as we always thought, that bats were not present. The Council’s Ecologist tried to make our client offer mitigation but Martin did not accept this and successfully argued the case for a favorable result. The only thing I would have expected in the report would be more pictures but this was quickly resolved.
Martin was first class and we wll be in touch again soon, no doubt, as soon as we have another site that requires his expertise.
Alan was very nice and helpful.
Bad news first: Mark was half an hour late to meet us at our site and because his phone had died, he did not phone ahead.
Good news: Apart from this, no problems at all. The quote was less than half of some of the others. Please pass on my regards to Mark. My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful evening watching the bats fly about and learned a great deal about them from him.
We required dusk and dawn bat surveys at our family home in Tonbridge, Kent. Our architect had provided a quotation from a company he normally uses and to be frank I nearly fell off my chair. This is only an extension to our home after all. Because of the bad weather recently, our survey was put back by almost 2 weeks, but it was £400 plus the VAT less than another local bat consultant…
The process was a little complicated to get the survey and we had to fill out a form and post it back as we don’t have a scanner and I didn’t want to pay over the phone. The survey itself went off without a hitch though. We now await the powers that be to grant us planning having spent a fortune on surveys of all kinds. One thing I would say is that Joanne (our surveyor) was very helpful and couldn’t do enough for us.
I live in Berkshire and was asked to provide a tree survey by my architect, to go with our planning application. I think that it was a bit much considering there was only one tree, but there was nothing we could do.The planning officers has spoken! I hired Arbtech tree surveyors to produce our report and was quite pleased with their quick and effective handling of our job. I would recommend them to a friend, and you can’t say much better than that. Alan was polite and helpful on site. I found him to be very responsive.
We got our planning through with permission to convert our 1930s barn, but it came with conditions for more yet more bat surveys which was very unexpected! To be fair to Mark he did say that this may happen and at the end of the day its the council’s decision. So overall we’re happy we have permission and Arbtech did a great job. Just a shame we need to fork out more money for these bats!!
Really nice and helpful. Rang ahead to say he would be delayed coming to site so we weren’t stood around waiting for him. Thanks Mark.
Arbtech are always very proficient and work with us closely for clients in the Surrey and Kent areas. The deal personally with planning officers and are able to often overcome quite complex design and tree interface issues with impressive ease. We always recommend Arbtech to clients and have never once had a reason not to continue to do so.
Rob’s greatest asset is his straight-talking manner. His integrity is second to none and through consultancy work he is able to put to very effective use, his ability to distill a solution to complex issues into a single, simple (and often humorous) sentence.
