What made you choose Arbtech?
Prior to applying for a role, I’d been following the company on social media and had worked with a few members of staff.
Any time I was in contact with the company’s employees, they always raved about the working environment, so I instantly became a big fan of the work culture promoted at Arbtech and intended to jump at the next available opportunity.
What do you love most about the company?
In my previous job, I had to compromise and do a lot of unstimulating projects, whereas at Arbtech, I get to do the aspects of ecology that I love, and I am given the chance to work towards my great crested newt and bat licence.
Arbtech has also done a lot to prepare for biodiversity net gain. As something I am strongly interested in, it is exciting to me that I can begin to work more on it.
What do you do when you are not at Arbtech?
I used to powerlift at university and still train today. I would love to compete and could see myself potentially working up to this goal.
I also play the clarinet in a local orchestra and have been playing since I was nine years old. Our orchestra features a mix of ages and we put on performances throughout the year.
What is your biggest tip to achieve the most in life?
If you put negative energy out, you get negative energy back.
I’ve been working to try and find a positive in every situation, and even though it can be hard, I’ve found that it does help.
What is the best social you’ve been on at Arbtech?
I’ve only recently started at Arbtech, so unfortunately, I haven’t been to one yet.
I will be at the Christmas social though, and I am really looking forward to it.
Where do you want to travel to next?
I recently went to one of the Greek Islands with my boyfriend, where we saw loggerhead turtles, and I don’t think I’ve ever been so excited. I truly loved it there and have since added more islands to my wish list.
Together, we have been to Italy, Bulgaria and Copenhagen. We loved Copenhagen so much in fact that we are planning a combined trip to Stockholm and Copenhagen next year.
My dream holiday is to Australia to see the Great Barrier Reef.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years’ time?
I’d love to own my home with a garden big enough for a staffie, as it has always been my dream dog breed. I’d also like to be a senior ecologist and have progressed in my career.
What is a goal you have for the future, in or out of work?
It is my aim to eventually earn my class 1 great crested newt and bat licences and pick up experience on biodiversity net gain projects.
I also want to continue travelling and tick more countries off my wish list.
