What made you choose Arbtech?
Several different unique aspects of the company drew me to Arbtech.
The first was the uncommon feeling of being a part of a bigger picture and the family feeling that came from operating within a team that is always willing to help.
The second was the high standard of work, as it demonstrated an enormous sense of dedication and enthusiasm from the team.
What do you love most about the company?
It is the perfect job for me and almost feels like it was created with me in mind.
I love the control, responsibility and independence that the company gives me and the other surveyors.
It also helps to have so much support from the team around me, as it feels like a family there to support me in any endeavour.
What do you do when you are not at Arbtech?
I love to go on walks and bicycle rides between Bristol and Bath.
Due to the current inflation rise, I’ve recaptured my love for camping and invested in a new tent ready to explore more of the UK.
I also enjoy spending time out in the fresh air at my allotment, growing my own fruit and vegetables to eat at home.
When the weather outside isn’t friendly or the winter months roll in, I love to spend quality time at home with my partner, often indulging in movie nights or gaming sessions.
What is your biggest tip to achieve the most in life?
I always get told to save lots of money in case of a ‘rainy day’. But there is always a ‘what if’ surrounding the possibility that you will never get to live your life to its maximum potential due to holding back and overplanning for the future.
I say you should be sensible but within reason and do something for yourself every day, even if it’s something small.
What is the best social you’ve been on at Arbtech?
I really enjoyed going out for a lovely pho lunch with the group of surveyors local to me, allowing me to get to know the wonderful personalities that make up the team.
I’m excited to attend more social events with the company in the future.
Where do you want to travel to next?
In the past, I visited two great places abroad that I would love to visit again, as I felt like I’d only briefly touched on the cultures.
The first was Japan, as I truly embraced the culture there and really enjoyed spending a month in the country back in March 2023. I want to visit the tropical islands that surround Japan and go snorkelling with the wildlife in the various reefs.
The second was Finland. I would relish an opportunity to see the wonders of the Northern Lights and go skiing across the Finnish mountains.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years’ time?
I have a basic five-year plan, but with no timescales, so I can enjoy working towards my goals.
Within the next five years, I would like to be in a larger house and married.
I intend to work hard and make the most of learning with Arbtech. More than anything, however, I mainly want to enjoy this part of my life and let it unfold naturally.
What is a goal you have for the future, in or out of work?
I would like to get my class 1 bat and barn owl licences within work.
It is also an aim of mine to educate myself on how to be less reliant on supermarket food and more invested in growing my own food by excelling at my allotment.
