Robbie MacKenzie
Having previously only worked for one consultancy in the past, I made the decision to look for a new role, and the opportunity at Arbtech significantly stood out from the rest.
With two friends already working at the company, I knew what a great environment Arbtech has created for its staff, and I jumped at the opportunity to become a part of it.
I love Arbtech’s ethos of putting their staff first and the freedom to choose your own projects and manage your own workload.
The level of trust given to employees is remarkable, and you’re treated as a highly valued member of staff right from day one.
Any free time I have had over the past two years has been spent hard at work renovating my first home. Now this is nearing an end, I’ll begin the process of looking for my next big DIY project.
Aside from that, I enjoy going walking with my partner and our young border collie.
Always work to the best of your ability and treat everyone in life how you would like to be treated yourself.
The only social I’ve been to so far was the most recent Christmas party, which was so much fun.
I am looking forward to future socials at Arbtech, as I’ve heard amazing things from my colleagues.
More than anything, I would love to visit Central America to explore the rainforests, enjoy the wildlife, and put my Spanish Duolingo course into practice!
I still see myself as a principal ecologist in five years but with a focus on building up a greater number of protected species class licences and expanding my ecological knowledge to be even broader than it is already.
In the future, my long-term goal has always been to eventually start and run my own business in ecological consultancy.
Outside of work, I would one day like to own a bigger house in a more rural location.
Robbie joined Arbtech in January 2024.
