Madison Sellar
Colleagues in my previous job mentioned Arbtech several times in passing, saying how it’s a great employer to work for and that the company treats its employees extremely well.
At the time, I didn’t give it too much thought, but when I saw a job advert on LinkedIn, I couldn’t believe my eyes. I was thoroughly impressed with the benefits package and immediately jumped at the opportunity, registering my interest with Rob.
Although I have just started, I can already tell that this is the company I want to work for.
Everyone has been so helpful and welcoming – a true testament to the excellent culture at Arbtech.
The initial reason why I was really drawn to this company was the strong emphasis on continuous learning and professional development. Outside of Arbtech, a lot of companies unfortunately do not invest in their employees, and I think this is so important.
Not only do I grow professionally and become a better-established ecologist, but the company also gains a more competent employee who can contribute more meaningfully to the work we undertake here at Arbtech.
In my spare time, I like to do various things.
I love attending festivals and gigs (any type of live music essentially).
I also love going on holiday, as I really enjoy immersing myself in different cultures, particularly due to the cuisine!
As an ecologist, I have a great appreciation for nature and animals. I’ve lived abroad most of my life and would really like to get more into hiking and camping across the UK. If anyone has any good recommendations, please send them my way!
When I am relaxing at home, I like to binge TV shows and occasionally play video games.
The majority of people do not get everything handed to them on a silver platter. Therefore, my biggest tip is simply perseverance and consistency.
I have yet to attend an Arbtech social after only recently joining, but I’ve only heard great things and can’t wait to get involved!
I would absolutely love to visit Japan, but I think my next holiday will be Florida again because my parents, brother and pets still live there.
In five years’ time, I envisage myself still working at Arbtech.
I see myself thriving within the company, becoming a well-established ecologist and a team player.
Work-wise, my goal is to obtain several protected species licences and just become an overall more knowledgeable ecologist.
In my personal life, a goal of mine is to eventually get on the property ladder.
Madison joined Arbtech in August 2024.
