Tom Baron
During a period of interviewing at various companies, I had verbally agreed to go elsewhere before having one video call with Rob and instantly changing my mind. His work ethic, approach to staff well-being and rewards scheme were second to none and couldn’t be matched anywhere else.
Arbtech’s growth is rising exponentially, and the limit for the company is beyond the stratosphere.
Even after just one day at Arbtech, I completely fell in love with the place!
The staff are so welcoming and kind, but also so funny and down to earth.
My hotels were booked, and I was given a phone, laptop and tablet to get started straight away.
The organisation here is next level.
Music:
I listen to music 24/7 – including literally in my sleep – so it really is my life.
I love most genres except for any of the generic guff plastered all over the radio; rock, metal, DnB, rap, orchestral, acoustic, piano – you get the gist.
I used to go to Download Festival annually, and I also play guitar (mostly electric) and upload covers to my YouTube channel from time to time.
Photography:
While I haven’t done it in a while, one of my favourite things to do is head out with my camera and do some landscape, wildlife or city photography. The peace is bliss.
Moving:
Keeping active is essential for me.
My body and mind just don’t work when I’m not active, and I just don’t feel myself.
Yes, you could say that I’m one of those losers who goes to the gym on holiday in 30-degree heat. I go to different gyms 5-6 times a week, play football when I can, and get out for walks with my two Frenchies.
I also watch a lot of sport – which includes moving a beer can to my mouth – and am an avid Bolton Wanderers fan.
I’m not going to do any preaching here or pretend that I know it all because I don’t.
But here are a few things my life wouldn’t be as good as it is without:
I haven’t been on any yet, as I only recently joined the company.
That said, the annual Christmas do is coming up and the excitement is in the air. Tux at the ready!
I’d love to go to Bali.
I would have preferred to do this prior to the infestation of parasite influencers, but I’ll have to settle for waterfall queues, monkey selfies and rice field walks.
British Columbia is pretty high up the wish list too, especially for the trees!
You would probably have to ask me again in five years, as I’m not much of a long-term planner.
In five years, I hope that I will continue to progress in my career, become an invaluable member of the Arbtech team, and reap the ridiculous list of rewards the company has to offer.
More than anything, I want to be happy, healthy and hopeful, but never fully satisfied with all aspects of life.
As silly as it sounds, I’d also love to eventually work towards buying a new watch!
Tom joined Arbtech in October 2023.
