Inez Daly
I was introduced to Arbtech by a friend (now turned colleague) last year when I started doing bat surveys. From this point on, I knew this was where I wanted to be.
I applied for the internship in 2024, and I was thrilled when I got the job. The support I’ve received throughout my time here from my seniors and fellow interns has been priceless. I also love the culture and opportunities they offer.
I can’t think of any other company that does it quite like Arbtech!
Flexible working.
I tend to have focused sessions late at night, and the freedom to do so means that I can get what I need done freely and not worry about a fixed schedule.
Site work also keeps things interesting. I’ve been able to see parts of the country I wouldn’t have been able to otherwise, and I love finding interesting cafes to work from!
I love to crochet small creatures and characters to give to my friends and family – the latest being a dog named Pochita from Chainsaw Man.
You may also find me galivanting on long walks, dog spotting and using my thermal camera to look at cows.
If I’m not outside, I’m usually in the kitchen trying out new recipes with my housemate and hanging out with the cats.
Try something new!
I definitely took the plunge with Arbtech, and it’s really paid off.
Staying curious and being willing to learn is key.
So far, I’ve only had dinner with a few colleagues, which has been great, but I haven’t been to any big ones yet.
I’m looking forward to seeing what they’re all about!
Either Japan with my boyfriend or back to Canada to visit family and go on a road trip.
Anywhere that involves being surrounded by nature.
By then, I hope to have progressed my knowledge and expertise with Arbtech, obtained at least my level 1 bat licence and become better at botany and mushroom identification.
I’d also like to learn how to surf.
I’m working towards maintaining a good work-life balance to get the most out of work while still making time to enjoy hobbies, like painting.
But I’ve always had the goal of being knowledgeable of the ecology of both the UK and my native Canada, especially as it will help me to make the most out of my hikes in the wild.
I also want to learn to relax more, ideally while drinking tea and preferably in the company of cats.
Inez joined Arbtech in October 2024.
