What made you choose Arbtech?
I have only recently joined the company, but having worked across the ecology sector in different roles over the last eight years, I have been aware of Arbtech and observed the company’s growth.
The culture, flexibility and trust that come with working at Arbtech were a huge attraction for me, and from speaking to various individuals within the company, it’s clear that the way Arbtech is run has a positive effect on everyone here.
What do you love most about the company?
So far, the people!
Everyone I have seen and spoken to across the company has been welcoming and supportive.
I’ve had the opportunity to engage in supporting other ecologists and have felt part of the team from day one.
The opportunity to manage my own time and workload whilst utilising my skills across different projects is something I am really looking forward to.
What do you do when you are not at Arbtech?
I like to be active, so outside of work, I am usually at the gym or out and about with my border collie.
I love to cook and eat, so I spend a lot of time in the kitchen or trying new foods.
I am also a lover of TV and film – especially anything sport-related – so I’ve usually got live sports, sports documentaries or a sports-based podcast on in the background.
What is your biggest tip to achieve the most in life?
Do what makes you happy!
Whether it’s in work or in life generally.
Find a passion, an interest, something that is unique to you, or something that you can share with others. Anything, as long as it makes you happy.
What is the best social you’ve been on at Arbtech?
I was kindly invited to the Christmas party before I started, and this was a great way to meet and get to know the people I’ll be working with.
I am really looking forward to more socials throughout the year!
Where do you want to travel to next?
Nowhere specific, but I want to spend more time away in our campervan!
I’d love to explore more remote parts of the UK and eventually drive across Europe.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years’ time?
Professionally, in a technical and training-focused leadership role, leading a technical discipline and helping to train future ecologists.
Personally, living in a more remote location surrounded by nature with my wife and more dogs!
What is a goal you have for the future, in or out of work?
To travel more and learn more – both personally and through work – and to experience new places and cultures.
