What made you choose Arbtech?
I have always been drawn to the ecology industry, and after securing a subcontracting role in summer 2025, it really strengthened my interest and encouraged me to pursue it further.
Through this experience, I learnt more about Arbtech and was particularly drawn to its flexibility, opportunities for progression and variety of work undertaken.
I liked the idea of joining a company where I could gain experience across different areas of ecology, continue learning and develop my skills alongside experienced ecologists.
The opportunity to work towards protected species licences and build a long-term career within the industry was also a big attraction, and I was keen to be part of a company that offered room for me to grow.
What do you love most about the company?
The people I work with.
Everyone is friendly, supportive and always at the end of the phone if I ever need anything.
Other than that, the flexibility with work is second to none.
What do you do when you are not at Arbtech?
Usually spending time with my family.
During the summer months, I enjoy getting out on the water, paddleboarding and kayaking, and generally spending as much time outdoors as possible.
I also love travelling and try to get away and explore new places whenever I can.
What is your biggest tip to achieve the most in life?
Make the most of every opportunity that comes your way, keep an open mind and never stop learning.
Don’t be afraid to step outside of your comfort zone or give things a go, as you never know where they might lead.
I think having a positive attitude and being willing to put yourself out there goes a long way.
What is the best social you’ve been on at Arbtech?
Unfortunately, I haven’t attended any yet, but I have heard great things about ArbFest this summer.

Where do you want to travel to next?
Absolutely anywhere and everywhere!
But at the top of the bucket list would probably be taking a campervan through New Zealand for a few months or snorkelling with wild orcas in northern Norway.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years’ time?
Hopefully having progressed well in my career as an ecologist, gained more experience and achieved a few protected species licences along the way.
What is a goal you have for the future, in or out of work?
To make the most of every opportunity that comes my way, both personally and professionally.
