I chose Arbtech because I really like the company’s approach to investing in people based on their attitude, mindset and willingness to learn, rather than just their previous experience.
I’m someone who enjoys learning new skills, taking on challenges and pushing myself outside of my comfort zone, so the opportunity to develop within a company that values that really appealed to me.
I also like the idea of building a long-term career where I can continue to learn, gain experience and contribute to the team, while bringing a positive attitude and a genuine willingness to get stuck in.
What I love most about Arbtech is the ‘work hard, play hard’ mentality.
I like that hard work, commitment and the right attitude are recognised and rewarded, while there’s also a strong focus on enjoying yourself and building good relationships within the team.
The company’s focus on its people and their development is something that really appeals to me.
I’m lucky enough to live in Cornwall, surrounded by some incredible beaches, which gives me plenty of opportunities to get outdoors and explore.
I love sea swimming, mountain biking and gravel biking, and I’m always looking for the next adventure, whether that’s discovering a new trail, heading to the mountains or getting out into the water.
Travelling is a huge passion of mine too. I’ve recently returned from an amazing month exploring British Columbia in Canada, where I travelled around Vancouver Island and up to Whistler, taking on some incredible mountain biking and experiencing some truly spectacular scenery.
I think the biggest tip is to have a positive attitude, always try to see the best in every situation and the people around you, and push yourself outside of your comfort zone.
Some of the best opportunities come from challenging yourself and doing things that scare you.
A positive mindset helps you overcome challenges. Make the most of opportunities and keep moving forward.
I’ve only recently joined Arbtech, so I haven’t been to any socials yet.
I’m looking forward to the next one and getting to know everyone better!
My travel list is endless, and there are already plenty of adventures I’m dreaming about.
Next year, I’m planning to head to the Dolomites to take on some mountain biking and climbing trails, combining two of my favourite ways to explore the outdoors.
I’d also love to return to New Zealand, which I visited in 2018 and absolutely loved. I spent time exploring both islands but still feel like there’s so much more to discover.
I’m also keen to take on some more bikepacking adventures, potentially through South America or closer to home in Scotland.
I’d like to become confident handling complex projects independently and be someone colleagues can rely on for advice and support.
As I gain experience, I’d also like to help train and support others entering the industry.
Most importantly, I want to build a long-term career at Arbtech, continuing to develop while contributing to the team and the company’s growth.
My goal is to really establish myself at Arbtech, continue developing my career and become a valuable part of the team.
Outside of work, I want to keep travelling, exploring new places and having as many adventures as possible.
