Rachel Wick
Arbtech first caught my attention after I graduated from university and began to look for work, finding the internship ad during my search.
I definitely thought it all sounded a bit too good to be true, but I decided to give it a shot, and by the time the internship was over, I knew I wanted to stay.
The team is amazing and so supportive, and the perks are a huge plus too!
The people!
Everyone I’ve met in person or online has been so friendly and supportive.
It’s also lovely to have some more control over my schedule than a ‘regular’ office-style job!
My favourite thing to do after work on a Friday is order a takeaway and binge a TV show with my partner.
I like playing video games on my PC (Minecraft and Powerwash Simulator are my current go-tos for a cosy evening) or hanging out with my three cats.
When I do go outside, I love walking on the South Downs or going swimming at Brighton Beach in the summer.
Do what makes you happy and try to make at least one person feel good every day.
You never know who’s having a bad day; you might be the first person to make them smile that day.
The social at the beginning of the 2024 internship was great!
It was wonderful to meet my fellow interns in person including the core team leading the internship.
I’m excited to join everyone at Christmas for the first time this year!
I’d love to visit Thailand next and go cave diving or spend a couple of weeks island hopping in Greece.
Closer to home, I’d like to take a campervan up to Scotland for a long relaxing road trip.
I hope I’m still at Arbtech, still learning, and still improving!
I’d love to have gathered a bunch of different skills within the field and taken as many opportunities as possible to try new things and learn more.
The big plan is to finish saving for a house and then finally get married to my fiancée.
Rachel joined Arbtech in October 2024.
