Nimit Khanna
I was first introduced to the Arbtech team by a managing consultant from Harvey Nash, who highlighted the company’s unique approach, AI-based projects and culture.
My first interview – conducted by Duncan – involved completing two tasks, which gave me a hands-on understanding of Arbtech’s workflows and problem-solving approach.
As I learned more about the company during this process, I was impressed by its reputation for innovation, excellence, and being bold and forward-thinking.
I also explored the team structure and was amazed by the range of expertise across different disciplines and departments, which clearly demonstrates that Arbtech invests in its people and their growth.
Later, I met Rob, who shared the company’s AI mission and the opportunities to make a meaningful impact through technology. The more I discovered about the collaborative mindset and the way Arbtech integrates innovation into its projects, the more certain I became that this was the right place for me.
Ultimately, I decided to join Arbtech because it offered the perfect environment to apply my expertise in data and AI, work on exciting and impactful projects, and contribute to a team that values learning, collaboration and making a real difference.
I also hope to learn from the team’s extensive experience and, in turn, provide AI insights that help us all grow and succeed together.
I love that Arbtech genuinely invests in its people and encourages them to push boundaries.
The transparency, autonomy and trust given to the team stood out to me immediately. It’s refreshing to see a company where everyone’s expertise is valued, whether that’s ecology, arboriculture or – in my case – data and AI.
Arbtech’s commitment to its employees is evident in its flexible working hours, unlimited continuing professional development budget, and a flat management structure. These initiatives foster a culture of trust and collaboration, allowing team members to thrive and deliver exceptional service to clients.
The company’s dedication to providing quick, straightforward and jargon-free advice aligns with my own values of clarity and efficiency. Arbtech’s focus on delivering high-quality service at competitive prices resonates with my desire to contribute to a team that prioritises both excellence and client satisfaction.
With over 20 years of experience, Arbtech is the UK’s leading ecological consultancy, employing over 120 staff across the UK. The company has been recognised by the Sunday Times as one of the ‘Best Places to Work’ for medium-sized businesses for two years in a row. This strong reputation and proven track record make Arbtech an inspiring and motivating place to be a part of.
Outside of work, I enjoy exploring the latest developments in AI and technology, while balancing this with travel, fitness and quality time with family and friends.
I have a passion for discovering new cities and countries, learning about their culture and trying authentic cuisines. I love cooking different cuisines from around the world – including Indian, Chinese, South Korean, Turkish, and many more – adding my own twist, as well as writing down my recipes to capture these creations. I also love exploring lost recipes and the ones nobody knows!
I have a deep appreciation for music, from DJ and electronic genres to classical pieces. Some of my favorite DJs and composers include Hardwell, David Guetta, Steve Aoki and A.R. Rahman. In my free time, I enjoy drawing, although my professional commitments often limit how much I can pursue this passion.
I’m passionate about sports and dance, enjoying activities such as football, cricket, contemporary dance and traditional Indian dance forms.
Lastly, I am a big fan of sci-fi movies and series, and recently have developed an interest in K-dramas, which has quickly become a new favourite pastime.
My biggest tip is to stay curious, keep learning, and follow the three Ds of success:
I believe that every problem has a solution – sometimes, you just need to pause, explore and reflect.
I also trust that everything happens for a reason and that persistence pays off. Follow your dreams, and even if not today or tomorrow, you will achieve them one day.
Treat every experience, success or setback as a lesson, and combine perseverance with an open mind to create lasting success.
As I’m new to the team, I haven’t experienced one yet, but from what I’ve heard, Arbtech socials are legendary!
I’m looking forward to joining my first one and getting to know everyone outside of the work environment.
Ah, this is a tricky one, as my list is endless!
Some of my top destinations include Norway to experience the Midnight Sun and Northern Lights, Seoul for its vibrant street food and ancient palaces, Iceland for its Northern Lights and stunning black sand beaches, Belgium for the Tomorrowland Festival, and last but not least, India, where my roots and rich cultural heritage belong.
I am also drawn to destinations that offer unique cultural experiences, breathtaking landscapes, and opportunities to try local cuisines and traditions.
Travelling allows me to broaden my perspective, gain new inspirations, and create unforgettable memories.
In five years, I see myself helping Arbtech fully leverage data and AI to work smarter, deliver greater value to clients, and drive innovation across the company.
I aim to lead high-impact projects that improve efficiency and open new opportunities for growth.
Personally, I want to continue expanding my expertise, mentoring future AI leaders, and achieving milestones such as building a team that transforms how Arbtech approaches data and technology.
My goal is to create a lasting impact while growing professionally and contributing meaningfully to the company’s success.
Of course, nothing is certain in life, but I believe in planning carefully and working steadily to achieve our goals.
Professionally, my goal is to build a world-class data and AI capability within Arbtech, making it an integral part of how the company operates, innovates and delivers value to clients.
I also aim to continue mentoring and supporting others who are looking to grow in the field of AI and data.
Personally, I am committed to lifelong learning and exploring new challenges, such as writing a book or pursuing creative projects.
In the long term, I dream of starting my own company, and as a retirement plan, I hope to open a fine-dining restaurant offering world-class cuisines from across the globe, sharing my passion for culinary arts with others.
