Antony Riozzi
After a long stint in residential development with one of the major housebuilders, I decided to return to my roots in flood risk and drainage.
I had previously run my own business, so I knew the kind of working culture I wanted – and Arbtech’s ethos really stood out to me.
The company’s flexible, supportive environment aligned perfectly with both my professional values and personal life.
I’m also ambitious by nature, and the opportunity to grow and lead a new team was both exciting and motivating; taking on that challenge at a company like Arbtech felt like the ideal next step in my career.
What stands out most to me is Arbtech’s ethos.
The trust placed in individuals to take ownership of their work and operate with real autonomy was a major draw.
The ability to manage my own time, make decisions and essentially be my own boss is incredibly empowering.
On top of that, the culture here is genuinely supportive – there are no timesheets, no unnecessary meetings, and total flexibility in how I structure my day.
I feel in control of both my work and my life, which is rare.
The generous leave, great perks and regular socials only add to what makes this such an exceptional place to work.
Honestly, it feels like a dream job.
Outside of work, life is full and rewarding.
I have two amazing children – aged 4 and 7 – so a good part of my time is spent doing all the usual (and sometimes chaotic!) parenting malarkey.
I also love to travel and have been lucky enough to explore some incredible places around the world, including the Maldives, Australia and Bali.
When it comes to hobbies, I’m always up for a challenge.
My latest passion is skydiving; I recently competed for the first time and placed 25th out of 40, which I’m really proud of.
I also enjoy scuba diving, hiking and kayaking whenever I get the chance.
For me, the biggest tip is to take ownership of your life, both personally and professionally.
Set clear goals, stay accountable, and don’t be afraid to step outside your comfort zone. Growth often comes from challenge – not ease.
At the same time, surround yourself with the right people – those who support you, challenge you, and share your values.
And most importantly, make sure you’re doing something that aligns with your passions and lifestyle. Success feels very different when you’re genuinely enjoying the journey.
I haven’t been on one yet, but I am looking forward to meeting everyone!
My next trip is already planned – I’m heading to Egypt in November to go diving.
The Red Sea has been on my list for a while, and I’m really looking forward to exploring its world-renowned dive sites and vibrant marine life.
Hopefully alive, rich and retired!
But in all seriousness, I see myself continuing to grow professionally, leading a successful, high-performing team and taking on new challenges.
I’d love to be in a position where I’m still doing the work I enjoy, but with more freedom, flexibility, and maybe even mentoring others coming into the field.
And if I can sneak in a bit more travel and diving along the way, even better!
A big personal goal for me is to be more at peace with myself, focusing on self-improvement and building a strong mindset.
I’m always looking for ways to push my limits, so taking on more extreme sports is definitely on the list.
Another goal is to keep up the momentum in the gym and continue challenging myself physically and mentally.
It’s all about becoming the best version of myself, both in and out of work.
