What made you choose Arbtech?
Several of my friends work at Arbtech, and they only had positive things to say about the company.
They encouraged me to speak with Rob about upcoming ecology opportunities, and I was immediately impressed by Rob’s passion, trust and respect for his staff.
I was looking for a position that would challenge me and allow me to grow by continually improving my knowledge, and Arbtech ticked all the boxes.
What do you love most about the company?
The level of trust and respect given to all staff members right from the outset is really refreshing.
I also love that I can work to a schedule that suits me and my workflow.
What do you do when you are not at Arbtech?
Life outside of Arbtech can be really busy, mostly because I love spending as much time as possible with close friends and family. I’m a big foodie, so that usually involves eating different foods, whether that be through going out for dinner, having picnics or cooking food for each other.
Outside of that, you can find me in the garden trying to encourage as much wildlife as I can into the small space we have, knitting, sewing, reading, or doing yoga. And if the weather is nice, I enjoy paddleboarding.
I am also studying part-time at university, so this takes up a lot of my time outside of work for most of the year!
What is your biggest tip to achieve the most in life?
Prioritise the people you love and the things that bring you joy.
I believe that by consistently doing things that fill your cup and bring you joy will create a very successful and happy life.
What is the best social you’ve been on at Arbtech?
I have yet to attend an Arbtech social, but I am very excited to attend my first one very soon and get to know my colleagues better.
Where do you want to travel to next?
My partner and I are planning our wedding, so we have been looking at honeymoon destinations.
We are really keen to go to Hawaii, as there is so much incredible wildlife and scenery there. I expect that will be our next holiday, but Japan and Canada are also on the list.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years’ time?
This is always a hard question for me, as my goals adapt over time as I grow and learn more about myself.
At the moment, I would like to see myself becoming very knowledgeable in botany and sharing my growing knowledge and vegetation ID skills with new members of the team at Arbtech.
What is a goal you have for the future, in or out of work?
My main goal at the moment it to complete my degree to a standard I can be proud of.
As I am studying alongside working full-time, this will be a big achievement for me.
