What made you choose Arbtech?
I applied to work for Arbtech because the company supports the opportunity for employees to learn and develop, either through the role or externally through providing funding for courses.
As someone who has only recently started their career in arboriculture, this was important to me, as I am still expanding my knowledge on trees and wanted an organisation that would allow/support me.
What do you love most about the company?
I love the fact that I am working from home, as it means I can spend more time with my dogs, and I wouldn’t be able to do that if I were in an office.
The flexible working also means that if it is a lovely afternoon and I need a screen break, I can pop out for a quick wander with my dogs and pick the work back up on my return with a refreshed brain.
What do you do when you are not at Arbtech?
When I am not at Arbtech, you will find me out in my garden or out on a walk with my dogs.
Unless the weather is horrendous, then I will be on the sofa under a blanket with one of the many craft projects I am currently working on.
What is your biggest tip to achieve the most in life?
I would say enjoy the little things.
I love being out in my garden watching things grow or out with my dogs listening to the birds as we walk.
I feel the little things are often overlooked in today’s society, and people are busy all the time, but just give yourself five minutes to relax and look around.
You will find joy in the most random things, and you will also find over time that any worry or stress that life brings becomes easier to manage.
What is the best social you’ve been on at Arbtech?
I have only been on one social so far, so I cannot really say just yet.
I am, however, looking forward to my first ArbCon later this year!
Where do you want to travel to next?
I would like to go back to Italy at some point.
I do not mind where – just somewhere on the coast with good Italian food.
You cannot beat the sound of the sea, a warm sea breeze, and a bowl of pasta; even better if you can also see the sea from the restaurant window!
Where do you see yourself in 5 years’ time?
Not sure – I just go with the flow of things!
I am very much ‘let fate take the wheel and it will be what it will be’.
You never know what is going to happen in five years, so why have a goal and become stressed if it no longer becomes achievable?
Just enjoy the rollercoaster that is life.
What is a goal you have for the future, in or out of work?
I have no major goals for life.
As I have said previously, I just let things play out.
I’m not saying that I have no drive, as I would like to progress more in my career, and I will certainly work towards that, but if it does not happen, that’s okay too.
The only thing that would be great is if I ever get the chance to have a bigger garden with a proper greenhouse.
I like to grow flowers and vegetables for fun, so more space for that and maybe some ducks would be cool.
I am sure my dogs would also appreciate the extra running space!
