Rachel Cole
I chose Arbtech because of its reputation for supporting early-career ecologists and the opportunity to get involved in practical, real-world projects like BNG and protected species surveys.
I also liked how open the company is about progression and training.
I have always wanted to work in ecological consultancy, so being able to do that with Arbtech is great.
The trust in the employees to manage their own time stood out to me, and it really lives up to the expectation.
I love the supportive culture and how approachable everyone is.
Everyone is so helpful and so kind!
Outside of work, I spend a lot of my time outdoors venturing to new nature reserves, and I also love relaxing at home with my ragdoll kitten.
Other than that, a lot of my time is spent studying at university in Canterbury, as I’m now in my final year of completing a qualification in wildlife ecology.
I also enjoy driving, walking and anything that could possibly involve exploring new places.
Every single possible opportunity – even a small one – can teach you something valuable.
I haven’t had the opportunity to join a social as of yet, but I’m very much looking forward to the upcoming Christmas social.
I’d love to visit Australia and Iceland for their wildlife and landscapes.
I see myself continuing to build experience with protected species and contributing to conservation-led projects.
Professionally, I’d like to get some protected species licenses.
Personally, I’d love to have the chance to travel more and explore new habitats around the UK and abroad.
Rachel joined Arbtech in October 2025.
